Following the recent announcement from government of an additional £40m of funding for victim support services, the Ministry of Justice have allocated a further £241,711 to support victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence in Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Worcestershire.
Of the money secured, £146,321 will go towards domestic abuse services, and £95,390 to sexual violence services.
Many victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence will have undoubtedly faced a deeply traumatic experience, especially during lockdown, so when they find the bravery to seek support, they need to know it is there.
As Commissioner, I remain committed to ensuring that is the case, which is why I welcome the additional funding to support victims and ensure we are doing all we can to help victims and survivors to cope and recover, by receiving the help and advice they need and deserve.
Organisations who provide these vital services are being invited to bid for the funding, providing they meet the required criteria. Details of how to apply can be found on the PCC’s website: https://www.westmercia-pcc.gov.uk/funding/funding-for-domestic-abuse-an…
